Ultrasonic blind cleaning

Ultrasonic blind cleaning is a specialist method for aluminium blinds that need more than a surface wipe. High-frequency action in a cleaning bath is used to lift dirt from slats, cords and awkward edges. It is confirmed at quote stage — not every set of blinds needs it.
Who it is for
Kitchens, long-neglected blinds, and workplaces where a wipe has stopped making a difference.
What ultrasonic cleaning is
In simple terms, blinds are cleaned using a bath and high-frequency vibration that helps loosen dirt from surfaces a cloth cannot reach easily — including cords. On this site it is offered as a deeper option for aluminium blinds, not as a gimmick on every job.
When it is worth considering
- Dirt packed into cord holes and slat edges
- Blinds that still look grey after ordinary dusting
- Kitchen film that has gone beyond a wipe
- Sets that have not been cleaned for years
How it sits next to a standard clean
A standard aluminium clean is enough when the problem is loose dust. Ultrasonic cleaning is the step up when the soil is ingrained. We will not push it if a simpler clean will do.
What is included
- Assessment of whether the method suits the blinds
- A deeper clean of slats and cords where appropriate
- Drying and a check before the blinds go back into use
- A sanitising/finishing pass as part of making them ready to rehang
Limits
Badly bent slats, failed mechanisms and non-aluminium materials are not repaired by ultrasonic cleaning. If a blind is not a candidate, we will say so rather than run the process anyway.
Aftercare
Once dry, treat the blinds as you would any clean metal window dressing: a light regular dust slows the next build-up. Avoid household degreasers that leave a residue.
What affects the quote
| Factor | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| How ingrained the dirt is | Deeper soil needs the specialist method |
| Blind type and size | Venetians with many slats take longer than a small set |
| Collection or on-site constraints | Discussed when you enquire |
| Number of blinds | The main driver of time and price |
Questions about this service
Is ultrasonic cleaning safe for aluminium slats?
It is used on aluminium blinds specifically because the metal copes with a thorough wet clean. We still check the condition first so a fragile or damaged blind is not forced through the process.
Does every job need ultrasonic cleaning?
No. Lightly dusty blinds usually need a standard clean. Ultrasonic cleaning is for when dirt has settled into the structure of the blind.
Does this include sanitising?
The finishing stage — drying, checking and leaving the blinds ready to use — is part of this deeper clean rather than a separate page on this site.
